Seven Churches of Asia Minor Tour
Itinerary
After your arrival to Istanbul airport, you will be welcomed at the exit of first gate by the Turkey Istanbul Tours representative. Then you will be transferred to your Istanbul hotel. Overnight in Istanbul.
Visited Sights: Smyrna (Izmir) - Agora - Pergamon - Thyatira
You will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to the airport for a flight to Izmir. Your flight will last about one hour and upon arrival, you will be welcomed by the Turkey Istanbul Tours representative. Our representative will be at the first exit door and holding a sign with your name on it.
First of all, we will start your trip in ancient times known as Smyrna, visiting the outside of St Polykarp Church & the ruins of the Agora. Then depart to Bergama and ruins of Pergamon, previously a renowned cultural and political center used by the Romans as an administrative center for the province of Asia. Here visit the ruins of the Acropolis and the Asclepion with its theatre. Then we will visit the ruins of Thyatira, which was founded by the Lydian’s.
At the end of the tour, we will drive to your hotel. Overnight in Izmir.
Visited Sights: Sardes - Philadelpia - Laodecia
After having breakfast at the hotel, we will pick you up and drive to Sardes, an extremely important ancient city and the capital of the Lydia Kingdom with its beautiful gymnasium and marble paved synagogue and the Temple of Artemis including ancient Christian Chapel of the 4th Century. Then we will proceed to Philadelphia in Alasehir, a favorite city of Paul and John. Then we will visit the Laodicea, an early center of Christianity and one of the Seven Churches of Revelation.
At the end of the tour, we will drive to your hotel. Overnight in Pamukkale.
Visited Sights : Calcium spring terraces, Hierapolis museum, Hierapolis Theatre, Roman Bath, and Temple of Apollo, Cleopatra hot spring thermal pool
After having breakfast at the hotel, we will pick you up and drive to Pamukkale where you will explore beautiful nature and fascinating history. Pamukkale has hot springs and travertines, terraces of carbonate minerals left by the flowing and cooling water. It seems like cotton that’s why it is called Cotton Castle. After having lunch we will visit to Hierapolis Ancient City as a Unesco World Heritage Site and used to be visited by people to soothe their aliments during the retirement and also die there.
At the end of the tour, we will drive to your Kusadasi hotel. Overnight in Kusadasi.
After having breakfast at the hotel, you will be transferred to Kusadasi port and take a ferry to Patmos. We will buy your ferry tickets and when you arrive at Kusadasi Port from Patmos we will welcomed you and transfer you to your Kusadasi hotel. Overnight in Kusadasi.
Ps. There is no Patmos ferries during the winter season. If there is no Patmos ferry, will be given a free day in Kusadasi instead of Patmos.
After having breakfast at the hotel, we will pick you up and drive to an ancient city of Priene, set dramatically at the foot of a sheer mountain wall, Priene overlooks the aptly named Meander River. This 2500 years old Ionian city was among the first to be planned with a grid system of streets. Then we will visit Miletos was one of the cities in Ionian League; challenging the power of Ephesus. According to legend which has three versions, the city is believed to be founded by a hero named Miletos. Didyma was famous throughout the ancient world as the place where a colossal Temple of Apollo stood, and the oracle revealed the future. The Word meant ‘the twins’ and the place was the meeting place of Zeus and Leto, to have their twins Apollo and Artemis. In its heyday, Didyma was not a city, but a place of worship, connected with Miletus by the so-called Sacred Way.
At the end of the tour, we will drive to your Kusadasi hotel. Overnight in Kusadasi.
Visited Sights: Ephesus - The Temple of Artemis - The House of Virgin Mary
After having breakfast at the hotel, we will pick you up and drive to Ephesus. We will visit the ancient, Greek city of Ephesus, a marvelous place surrounded by trees. During the day, we will also visit spectacular places, such as Hadrian Temple, Celcius Library, Theater, Hamams and Old Harbor. After having lunch, we will visit the House of Virgin Mary, where she spent her last days. She preferred to live in this remote place. After that, we will visit the Temple of Artemis, which is known as one of the Seven Wonders of the ancient world and was built in an area of Ephesus.
At the end of the day, you will be taken to the Izmir Airport for your return flight to Istanbul. When you arrive at the airport, you will be welcomed by our representative at the first exit door. You will then be taken to your hotel. Overnight in Istanbul.
According to your international flight time, you will be transferred to airport 4 hours before your flight. You will be able do self check-in. This is the end of our services.
